Dream interpretations, how does it really work? How can it really work?
If every single human being is an individual who sees differently, and perceive differently, how can there be that we can use a common source to tell us what all of our dreams mean? If we all have a separate subconscious, one which is shaped both by our genes and by our environment, and to which the possibilities of our minds ever matching up even the slightest with any other person's is so infinitesimal, how can our dreams be interpreted the same way by a common source?
How are we to trust dream dictionaries, where they have only two or three possibilities for each specific dream term? How are we to trust psychologists or psycho-analysts, or even hypnotists, who put us into categories before they even evaluate us? In my most humble opinion, these Morphean phenomenons can't be explained unless we manage to dissect the subconscious of the dreamer.
Whether it's about seeing a spider, or accidentally spilling water that you were carrying, or making love to a complete stranger... These dreams can't mean the same because not everyone is afraid of spiders, not everyone finds water so precious and not everyone is a repressed puritan. True, there are certain facts about dreams and dreaming that can be studied, because the human mind after all, has limits (I might even contest that fact but it'll have to wait til later blogs). The way we each feel about dreams is different because every event has a different meaning for us, and makes us feel different things.
So when you actually look up a term in an online dream dictionary, it might as well be compared to going to a fortune teller; you'll hear what you want to hear (or in this case, read what you want to read) and you'll try as hard as heck to look for insignificant coincidences that might possibly mean absolutely nothing at all. You can't possibly be taking for granted that you're just that simple, can you?
But let me tell you something, my friend. The journey to self-discovery is way more complicated than that. To find out about yourself is a lifetime experience and it'll definitely take more than small exposure times to textbooks and certified experts in questionable fields to get the answers.
